ABOUT STEVE MCKEWON
Founder-Led AI Search Visibility for Local Service Businesses
I’m Steve Mckewon, founder of Magnum Opus Studio.
I help local service businesses become clearer, more trusted and easier to recommend across Google, Google Maps and AI search.
My background is not traditional agency SEO. It comes from decades of real commercial experience: selling, trading, building ecommerce systems, managing thousands of products, content marketing, SEO, paid ads, customer behaviour, and understanding how trust turns into business.
No hard sell. We first look at how your business currently appears across your website, Google profile, reviews and AI search, then identify what needs to be clearer.

COMMERCIAL INSTINCT
I learned how small changes in wording, layout, product information, trust signals, images, navigation, reviews, search visibility and customer journey could affect real sales.
I also learned that online systems never stand still. Google changed. Amazon changed. Advertising changed. Customer expectations changed. The businesses that survived were the ones that kept reading the signals and adapting.
People who worked with me often saw that I was not only responding to changes. I was usually looking two or three steps ahead, trying to understand where the next shift was coming from.
Magnum Opus Studio is built from that experience.
AI search may be new, but the commercial question is familiar:
Can the customer, the platform and the machine clearly understand why this business should be trusted and chosen?
That is the eye I bring to local AI visibility.
FOUNDER BACKGROUND
WHY MY BACKGROUND MATTERS
Most digital visibility advice comes from the agency world.
Mine comes from building, running and surviving real businesses.
I have sold face to face, traded at markets, run shops, built ecommerce systems, managed large product ranges, and worked with Google Ads, Amazon, SEO, content, reviews, customer service, pricing, stock, margin and conversion.
That matters because visibility is not just about being seen.
It is about being understood, trusted and chosen.
Magnum Opus Studio exists because modern search is moving in that direction. Google, Maps and AI systems are no longer just matching keywords. They are trying to understand which businesses are relevant, credible and useful for a specific customer need.
That is the work I now help local service businesses with.
Different channels. Same question.
How does good work become visible enough to be chosen?
Search is changing. Human decision-making is not.

Commercial Experience
Built through selling, trading, ecommerce, SEO, paid ads and customer behaviour.
Systems Thinking
Understanding how websites, profiles, reviews, directories and search signals connect.
Founder-Led Delivery
You work directly with me, not a junior account manager or anonymous agency process.
FROM COMMERCE TO AI VISIBILITY
I Have Spent Decades Learning How People Find, Trust and Choose Businesses
Before Magnum Opus Studio, I spent years building businesses from the ground up.
That meant learning visibility the hard way.
As something that affected whether people found the business, understood the offer, trusted the product, made an enquiry, bought, returned and recommended it.
Over the years, I worked across markets, shops, ecommerce, SEO, paid search, Amazon, email marketing, product feeds, reviews, content systems, customer service and commercial operations.
Different channels. Same underlying question:
How does good work become visible enough to be chosen?
That question now sits at the centre of Magnum Opus Studio.
Search is changing, but the commercial principle has not changed.
A business still needs to be found, understood, trusted and chosen. The difference now is that Google, Maps and AI systems are becoming part of how those choices are made.
Markets, shops, festivals, exhibitions and direct selling taught me how people judge offers, ask questions, build trust and decide whether to buy.
Building online businesses taught me how websites, product pages, content, SEO, paid ads, reviews and customer journeys shape visibility and trust.
Magnum Opus Studio applies that same commercial logic to local AI search: can Google, Maps and AI systems understand, verify and recommend the business?
Understanding that visibility is not abstract. It affects enquiries, cash flow, confidence, growth and whether a business can keep moving forward.
FOUNDER PURPOSE
WHY MAGNUM OPUS STUDIO EXISTS
Helping Good Work Become Easier to Find, Understand and Choose
Magnum Opus means “great work”.
That matters to me because one of my strongest observations is that many talented people and good local businesses are underrepresented online.
They have skill, experience, care and something valuable to offer, but their digital footprint does not always show that clearly.
Their website may be thin.
Their Google profile may be incomplete.
Their reviews may not explain the real value of their work.
Their services may not be described in the same way across the web. Their business may be much better than it looks online.
Magnum Opus Studio exists to help close that gap.
Search is changing. Keywords, rankings and traffic still matter, but they are no longer the whole picture. Increasingly, visibility is about matching.

I focus on local service businesses because that is where I believe I can bring the most practical value.
Many of these businesses do not need hype. They do not need to pretend to be bigger than they are. They need to become clearer, more trusted and easier to recommend.
The aim is simple: help good local businesses become better understood, better represented and better matched with the people who are already looking for what they offer.

Want to Know How AI Might Interpret Your Business?
The AI Visibility Audit checks whether Google, Maps, AI systems and real customers can understand who your business is, what you offer, who you help and when you should be recommended.
It identifies what is clear, what is vague, what is missing and what should be improved first.
Book a Visibility Call
Before the call, I’ll take a quick look at your website, Google Business Profile and local visibility, so the conversation starts with real observations rather than generic advice.
